QA Lead – Core Team

We're looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to lead our QA efforts and drive the transition from manual to automated testing. While not a formal management position, this is a senior individual contributor role focused on leading by example, mentoring team members, and advancing strategic QA initiatives, including the adoption of AI-powered test automation.

Responsibilities:

QA Leadership:

• Lead the team's QA effort – act as the “Quality Ambassador” ensuring all deliveries meet quality standards before release
• Champion Test Plan-First approach – ensuring comprehensive test planning and documentation before execution
• Drive the strategic transition from manual testing to automated testing
• Lead by example in adopting AI-assisted testing tools and methodologies
• Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand requirements and ensure quality standards Mentor team members on QA best practices and automation techniques

Test Automation:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks
• Create and maintain test environments, test data, and automated test scripts
• Implement API testing (REST, gRPC, OData) and integration testing
• Continuously improve testing processes for efficiency and coverage
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test creation and maintenance

Quality Assurance:

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, and performance testing
• Analyze, investigate, and troubleshoot the root cause of defects
• Report and communicate testing progress, results, and defects
• Ensure quality gates are met before releases

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a Software QA Engineer
• Strong experience in both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern test frameworks
• Experience with API testing (REST, gRPC, OData)
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation and test data management
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., Zephyr, Practitest, BrowserStack, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills from system level to low level
• Exceptional communication skills – ability to collaborate effectively and influence without authority
• Natural leader who leads by example and inspires others
• Fast learner of new systems, tools, and platforms
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal
• Experience with AI-powered development/testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Cline, Cursor, or similar) – Big advantage
• Experience with Jest testing framework – advantage
• Experience with Cucumber.js or other BDD frameworks – advantage
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration -advantage
• Experience with monitoring and log analysis tools (e.g., Datadog) – advantage
• Experience testing enterprise-grade applications – advantage
• Experience with performance testing tools – advantage
