Competition & Comparison

How does Priority ERP compare to Microsoft Dynamics 365?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 requires heavy customization for industry needs and does not offer a smooth migration from Business Central. It is not built for highly regulated industries. Priority ERP is user-friendly, flexible, and customizable without IT support, and ensures compliance with FDA, GDPR, SOX, ISO9000, ISO27001, and SOC 2 Type 2. Note: Dynamics 365 may be preferred for organizations already standardized on Microsoft platforms. Source

How does Priority ERP compare to SAP Business One?

SAP Business One is complex, expensive, and lacks multi-company capabilities. Its Version 10 will reach end-of-support in 2026. Priority ERP is affordable, easy to use, and supports true multi-company operations with automatic inter-company processes. Note: SAP Business One may be suitable for organizations with existing SAP infrastructure. Source

How does Priority ERP compare to NetSuite?

NetSuite is a strong cloud ERP but is expensive and enforces contract lock-in. Gartner notes costs are high for SMBs. Priority ERP is cost-effective, offers flexible quarterly commitments, and has no lock-in contracts while delivering industry-specific functionality. Note: NetSuite may be preferred for organizations seeking deep Oracle ecosystem integration. Source

How does Priority ERP compare to Odoo?

Odoo is open-source but has scalability limits, performance issues, long learning curves, and high implementation failure rates due to a weak partner ecosystem. Priority ERP provides structured implementation, scalability, proven methodologies, experienced partners, and quick user adoption. Note: Odoo may be preferred for organizations seeking open-source flexibility. Source

Industry Recognition & Trust

Has Priority Software received industry recognition?

Yes. Priority Software has been recognized by Gartner in the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Cloud ERP for Product-Centric Enterprises, as a Major Player in the 2025 IDC MarketScape for AI-Enabled ERP, and as the top ERP Solution in the 2025 TEC Insight Report for SMBs. About Boddingtons Electrical

Boddingtons Electrical is a UK-based leader in insulated tools and electrical safety equipment manufacturing. For over 20 years, the company has supported critical electrical safety operations with a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service.

Founded in 1999 and now part of the global Sicame Group, Boddingtons serves the UK and Ireland as Sicame's official hub and distribution center for C&I product ranges including CATU, Mecatraction, SBI, Safak, and others.

The Challenge

The challenge

After more than a decade on the same ERP, Boddingtons Electrical reached a point where their system could no longer support the demands of a growing manufacturing and distribution operation. As the UK hub for Sicame Group's C&I product range, order volumes, product lines, and reporting needs expanded, but their legacy ERP remained rigid and increasingly difficult to adapt. Many essential tasks, such as generating sales or expiry reports, aligning stock with production stages, or tracking LOT numbers, had to be handled manually or outside the system.

These limitations weren't just operational, they were financial. Licensing fees continued to rise while the underlying system delivered less value year over year. Even simple adjustments required external intervention. “We were finding other challenges beyond TCO,” said Gill Page, Director at Boddingtons. “If certain system screens or fields needed to be adjusted, we had to pay our vendor for additional programming time. It was time for an ERP system we could manage on our own.” This dependency slowed innovation and made it harder for Boddingtons to quickly respond to evolving distributor expectations.

Ultimately, the legacy system created bottlenecks that stretched order processing from days into weeks, reduced visibility across departments, and made growth harder to sustain. Boddingtons needed an ERP that could keep pace with their operations, give internal teams more control, and eliminate unpredictable customization costs.

Key challenges included:

  • Manual work replacing system workflows (reporting, stock tracking, expiry management)

  • Rigid order management processes that extended fulfillment timelines

  • No real-time visibility across manufacturing, stock, and sales

  • Rising licensing fees and unpredictable customization costs

  • Reliance on vendor programming for even minor changes

The Solution

The solution

To overcome the limitations of their legacy ERP, Boddingtons set out to find a modern platform that their team could manage internally, without relying on vendors for every adjustment. They needed technology that could scale with the business, automate manual tasks, and support growing operational complexity as the UK hub for Sicame Group's product lines. Ease of implementation and a smooth, reliable migration process were essential to avoid disrupting daily production.

Fast implementation

Boddingtons required a solution that could be deployed quickly, without months of preparation or downtime. Priority's flexible architecture and partner-led methodology enabled an accelerated rollout that aligned with the company's operational needs. According to Gill Page, Director at Boddington's. “Once we gave the go-ahead, the move to Priority was exceptionally fast.”

Smooth, secure migration from the legacy system

Migrating years of historical and product data was a high-stakes undertaking. Priority ERP's structured migration approach ensured clean, accurate transfer of records, minimizing risk and reducing the burden on internal teams.

Minimal downtime during the transition

As a manufacturer and distribution hub, Boddingtons could not afford system outages. Priority's migration strategy allowed the business to continue operating while the new environment was prepared, tested, and brought online.

Built-in automation to replace manual work

Priority's BPM allowed Boddingtons to automate workflows that previously required manual intervention or custom programming. This gave departments immediate visibility and streamlined coordination across sales, production, and distribution.

Long-term scalability and internal control

Boddingtons wanted an ERP that would grow with them, one they could configure internally as processes, distributors, or product lines changed. Priority offered a sustainable, cost-efficient solution that eliminated reliance on external developers.

Partnering with ABS Limited, one of Priority's authorized UK partners, Boddingtons selected Priority ERP as the platform that best met their functional, financial, and operational requirements.

The Results

The results

Priority ERP delivered measurable improvements across production, order management, reporting, and day-to-day efficiency. With automation replacing manual work and no custom programming required, Boddingtons gained faster processing cycles, clearer visibility, and a more predictable cost model from day one.

Faster operations & shorter fulfillment cycles

  • Order processing time cut from 2–3 weeks down to 3 days, an estimated 70–85% reduction in lead time. This improvement came directly from automated workflows, simplified approvals, and real-time visibility across departments.

  • 100% of orders now follow a fully automated workflow, reducing bottlenecks and eliminating manual handovers.

  • Automatic notifications ensure production, warehouse, and sales teams stay aligned, preventing delays that previously occurred due to manual follow-ups.

  • Zero custom code required for any process changes, everything is handled through Priority's built-in BPM.

End-to-end automation across sales & production

  • 100% of sales orders are now processed through automated flows, from entry to dispatch, significantly reducing manual oversight.

  • Staff use the Priority Report Generator, saving an estimated 5–7 hours per week previously spent assembling spreadsheets or merging data from multiple sources.

  • Automated handling of LOT numbers, expiry dates, and product traceability allows the team to identify products approaching shelf-life instantly—work that once required manual checks.

  • Automated alerts now flag stock shortages, production delays, and expiry risks days or weeks earlier than before.

Improved reporting & full traceability

  • Compliance and traceability reporting can be done in minutes with Priority's reporting tools.

  • Real-time visibility into shelf-life data allows Boddingtons to proactively plan production and reduce waste, improving stock accuracy

  • Instant report generation eliminates manual data consolidation and ensures that all departments access the same accurate, up-to-date information.

  • Full LOT and batch tracking supports both industry compliance and faster audits.

“Priority allows us to add LOT numbers and expiry dates with full traceability. We can generate reports instantly – a must-have in our industry.”

Gill Page, Director at Boddingtons

Staff efficiency, faster adoption & lower costs

  • Staff onboarding was completed in just 2 days, with full system usage achieved within the first week—compared to the previous ERP, where new users required weeks of training.

  • Eliminating custom programming reduced ongoing ERP maintenance expenses.

  • Licensing and operational costs dropped significantly, improving overall ROI within the first year of implementation.

  • The entire migration and go-live process was completed with minimal downtime, ensuring that manufacturing schedules, stock management, and distributor delivery commitments were never disrupted.

“Once we gave the go ahead, migrating to Priority was exceptionally fast, with implementation completed in 6 weeks!”
