The challenge

The challenge

Before turning to /erp/ Nautilus Designs operated on a dated, inefficient system that couldn't support their evolving business needs. “So we were on a very dated system. It was quite inefficient. It did not talk to various portals like customer portals, HMRC etc.,” Tinkle Jain, CEO of Nautilus Designs recalls.

The limitations of the legacy system created several critical challenges that were holding the business back:

  • Manual order entry consumed time and reduced team productivity. The sales team spent the majority of their time simply entering orders into the system rather than engaging in actual sales activities; a fundamental misallocation of skilled resources.
  • Inability to integrate with retailer systems cost them major business opportunities. “Previously we've had to turn back large customers where we couldn't integrate with their systems,” Jain explains. For a distributor working with major retailers, this wasn't just an inconvenience, it was a barrier to growth that directly impacted revenue.
  • Poor visibility and disconnected workflows impacted operational agility. Without proper integration between systems, the company lacked real-time visibility into inventory, orders, and fulfillment processes. This made it impossible to offer the rapid delivery services that modern retailers demand.
  • Outdated processes stifled innovation and reinforced a “this is how it's always done” mindset. Perhaps most insidiously, the old system had calcified the company's operational thinking, making it difficult to imagine better ways of working.

For a company serving major retailers who expected speed, accuracy, and seamless integration, these limitations were becoming increasingly untenable.

The solution

The solution

When Jain began searching for a new ERP system, she placed an advertisement that caught the attention of ERPiQ. “I was looking for an ERP system in the market. I put an advert on. ERPiQ got in touch. It just ticked many boxes really,” she says.

After connecting with Priority's implementation partner, Nautilus Designs selected Priority ERP as the ideal solution to modernize their business. “They demoed Priority as a system. It was fit for purpose. It was easy to use. It integrated with the customers that we needed it to integrate to and it was also very very cost effective,” Jain explains.

But the implementation process delivered far more than just a new system; it sparked a transformation in how the company viewed and optimized its internal processes.

“The system implementation was very interesting actually because it helped us dive into our company procedures and look into our own company's processes,” Jain reflects. “They came along and obviously we had to do some customizations etc. They would ask us questions and it wasn't to challenge us in any way but it was to just get a better understanding of our company and it actually helped because we suddenly started looking into our company's details and wondered why are we doing things a certain way.”

This collaborative approach proved transformative. With guidance from the team, Nautilus took a deep dive into their internal workflows. They began questioning long-standing processes and rethinking how the business should operate, not just how it always had. “It helped us get out of the 'this is how it's always done' mentality,” Jain notes.

The ERP implementation turned into an opportunity to reshape the company's day-to-day operations: from sales to fulfillment. With Priority's built-in flexibility, integrations with key customer portals, and intuitive user interface, the team was able to streamline order workflows, support next-day delivery models, and reduce manual effort.

The collaborative, hands-on support made the transition seamless, and the system quickly became a central part of Nautilus' growth strategy.

“For me, a software is a software and Priority does many things extremely well. But the main thing that sets it apart from its competitors is the team…They've all been exceptional. They've always been at the other end of a phone call at odd hours. Every time I've needed help or the team have needed help, all we've had to do is just ring them and they've just been there. It's almost like they took a personal interest in us and they were extremely encouraging and extremely positive throughout the process and I really couldn't have asked for any more.”

Executive summary

Since adopting Priority ERP, Nautilus Designs has achieved a dramatic operational transformation that has directly impacted their bottom line and competitive positioning. The company automated 65% of their order entry processes, freeing their sales team from administrative burdens and enabling them to focus on revenue-generating activities. This efficiency gain, combined with new capabilities for rapid fulfillment and retailer integration, drove a 30% increase in order volume. The system's user-friendly interface required minimal training, resulting in smooth staff adoption and immediate productivity gains. Most significantly, the implementation enabled Nautilus to serve previously inaccessible large accounts and deliver on the next-day and same-day service commitments that major retailers demand.

Sales team freed to focus on selling activities

Disconnected workflows creating bottlenecks

Streamlined, automated processes

“We've automated 65% of our order entry now since we've moved to Priority and the team are now able to sell. They're no longer just entering orders which obviously used to take a lot of time.”

Tinkle Jain, CEO, Nautilus Designs

Revenue growth: 30% Increase in order volume

Before Priority
After Priority

Unable to offer next-day delivery

Next-day delivery for orders before 4 p.m.

Limited same-day capabilities

Same-day and next-day for shopfitting and steel

Standard order volume

30% increase in order intake

Missed opportunities due to delivery limitations

Capturing business previously lost to competitors

The operational improvements delivered by Priority ERP directly drove business growth. “Because of the next day delivery service that we can offer now which we couldn't previously, that has increased the order intake by 30% as well,” Jain notes.

This 30% increase in order volume represents substantial revenue growth that can be directly attributed to Priority's capabilities. By enabling real-time visibility into inventory and streamlined fulfillment processes, Nautilus could confidently commit to next-day delivery—a critical competitive advantage when serving major retailers with urgent needs.

The 30% growth wasn't simply about doing more of the same—it represented new business opportunities that were previously impossible to capture.

“We've just seen that Priority has massively helped in increasing our turnover, increasing our efficiency.”

Market access: From turning away customers to onboarding major accounts

Before Priority
After Priority

Had to decline large customers requiring system integration

Can onboard any customer with integration needs

Lost revenue opportunities with major accounts

Accessing previously unavailable market segments

Limited to customers with basic requirements

Serving sophisticated retailers with complex demands

No competitive advantage in technology

System integration as a key differentiator

While harder to quantify but equally significant, Priority ERP eliminated a critical barrier that had been limiting Nautilus's growth potential. “Previously we've had to turn back large customers where we couldn't integrate with their systems and now obviously we were able to,” Jain explains.

The ability to integrate with retailer systems transformed Nautilus from a company that had to turn down business into one that could confidently pursue major accounts. This shift in capability opened entirely new revenue streams and strengthened relationships with existing high-value customers.

“The team like it because it's very user friendly as opposed to the old system that we've run.”

Operational efficiency: Streamlined processes across the business

Before Priority
After Priority

No real-time visibility into operations

Complete real-time visibility across all processes

Manual HMRC compliance processes

Automated compliance and reporting

“This is how it's always done” mentality

Beyond the headline numbers, Priority ERP delivered comprehensive process improvements throughout the organization:

  • Real-time visibility enabled same-day and next-day delivery commitments that were previously impossible
  • Integrated workflows eliminated disconnected processes and manual handoffs
  • Automated compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements reduced administrative burden
  • Smarter fulfillment processes supported faster order turnaround without additional staffing

“Over the years, ERPiQ has helped us streamline our business processes,” Jain reflects. “It has just helped us streamline our processes massively.”

User adoption: Minimal training, maximum acceptance

Before Priority
After Priority

Outdated, difficult-to-use system

User-friendly, intuitive interface

Staff frustration with technology

Team enthusiasm and positive adoption

Extensive training required for basic functions

Minimal training needed

Resistance to using the system

Immediate productivity and acceptance

Staff adoption has been remarkably smooth, with the user-friendly interface requiring minimal training. This ease of adoption is significant because it meant no productivity loss during transition, no extended training periods consuming resources, and no resistance from team members struggling with complex new tools. The system's intuitive design allowed staff to become productive immediately, accelerating time-to-value.

Scalability: System proven through acquisition

Before Priority
After Priority

System couldn't support business expansion

Proven scalable platform for growth

Would need different solution for acquisitions

Same system deployed for Benbo Steels acquisition

Uncertain about technology for future growth

Confidence in platform for long-term strategy

The ultimate proof of Priority ERP's value came when Nautilus Designs acquired Benbow Steels, now Nautilus Steel. Rather than evaluating multiple options, the decision was immediate: implement Priority.

“I would recommend Priority most definitely. The proof is in the pudding. We bought Benbow Steels last month and we had to move to a new ERP system and obviously Priority was the one we chose just after 12 months of having it on the other company. So yes, I would not just recommend it to somebody else. I recommended it within our own business,” Jain states.

This internal recommendation, choosing to implement Priority again for a new acquisition—demonstrates confidence that goes beyond typical customer satisfaction. It represents a strategic decision based on proven ROI, reliable performance, and trust in both the platform and the implementation partner.

Looking forward

For Nautilus Designs, Priority ERP didn't just replace an outdated system—it became the foundation for smarter operations, faster growth, and more satisfied customers. The combination of 65% automated order entry and 30% order volume growth has fundamentally improved the company's profitability and competitive position.

With automation, integration, and scalability now built into their day-to-day processes, Nautilus is better equipped than ever to serve top retailers with unmatched speed and efficiency. The system has proven its value not just through operational metrics, but through the company's willingness to implement it again—the strongest endorsement any solution can receive.

As Jain concludes: “ERPiQ has helped us streamline our business processes. It's increased order entry by 30%, because of our commitment to next day delivery. It has just helped us streamline our processes massively.”
